Most addictions and secret sins run on a single lie: I can handle this, and I will stop after this time. We think we are the exception. We have been strong before, so we assume we are still in control. Samson lived that way. He had real gifts from God, but he treated them like his own property. He broke his vows, played games with temptation, and kept going back to what he knew would ruin him, sure that the strength would always be there.
Then it was gone. Blind, shaved, and grinding grain for his enemies, he finally saw clearly. In his last prayer he asked God to remember him and strengthen him once more. God answered, not because Samson had earned it, but because God is merciful to people who have nothing left but a cry. That is the gospel shape. Paul says no temptation is unique to you, God is faithful, and He provides a way of escape. The ultimate escape is Jesus, who resisted every temptation we give in to and then died for our failures. You do not have to hit bottom before you turn. Stop believing you are the exception. Confess it today and run to the One who still hears.

Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Same old vineyard, same old gate
Same old Samson, tempting fate
I tell myself I’m in control
While the rot is eating at my soul
I’m back at the carcass, I’m off of the track
I’m craving the thing that keeps pulling me back
One more time!
[Pre-Chorus]
My hair is long, my arms are wide
I’ve got the Spirit on my side
So I’ll take the wink of a kohl-rimmed eye
And tell the Lord another lie...
[Chorus 1]
One more time, and I’m feeling fine
One more time, I can walk the line
One more time, the power is mine
I’m the king of the vineyard
And the fruit of the vine!
I thought I was the exception!
[Verse 2]
The razor’s cold, the room is still
I’m climbing up a hollow hill
She asks me once, she asks me twice
I’m rolling those loaded Philistine dice
I know the end, I’ve seen the fall
But the "one more time" is a siren call
I gave the secret, I gave the key
Now there’s nothing left of the man in me
[Chorus 2]
One more time, and I’m feeling fine
One more time, I can walk the line
One more time, the power is mine
But I’ve caught myself in a terrible bind!
I thought I was the exception!
[Bridge]
The "one more time" was the last time.
I’m blind in the Gaza, I’m bound in the chain
I’ve got nothing but the pillars and the sound of the rain
Lord, remember me!
Give me the weight of the house for the sake of my name!
[Chorus 3]
One more time...
One more time...
One more time...
There is no more time, just the dark and the chain!
I wasn't the exception.
Now I’m crushed by the weight of the choices I made
I’m the strongest man lying in a grave I laid!
[Outro]
It wasn't my muscle.
It wasn't my skin.
I built this cage from the outside in.
No more time...
No more time...
