Some people believe they are too far gone for God. Others believe they are good enough not to need Him. It sounds like opposite problems, but both are the same mistake. Each one thinks salvation depends on our record. One looks at the record and despairs. The other looks at it and relaxes. Nominal faith often sits in the middle, hoping that on balance we will come out fine.
Paul tears up the scorecard. God saved us not because of anything we did but according to His own mercy, through the washing and renewing work of His Spirit. Grace is not God grading on a curve. It is God doing for us what we could never do, in Jesus, who lived the righteous life we did not and died the death we deserved. That means no one is beyond reach. A thief on a cross received paradise on the day he died. And no one gets to boast, because salvation is a gift, not a reward. If you are hiding from God because of your past, His mercy is bigger than your record. If you are resting on your decency, it will not hold. Either way, the invitation is the same. Stop keeping score, and receive Jesus as the Savior you actually need.

Lyrics
[Verse 1]
We were walking down a broken road
Carrying a heavy, heavy load
Thought we went too far to turn around
But that's exactly where we were found
[Pre-Chorus]
Grace came running to the rescue
Love broke through the darkest night
Now there's only one thing left to do
Lift our voices up into the light!
[Chorus]
Oh, He saves! Jesus saves!
From the highest mountains to the lowest waves!
Even the worst of us, He calls His own
Now we're singing out before the throne!
Hallelujah, let the whole church sing!
All the glory to the saving King!
[Verse 2]
It doesn't matter what you've left behind
He is merciful and He is kind
Every single chain has been undone
Washed completely clean by the Son
[Pre-Chorus]
Grace came running to the rescue
Love broke through the darkest night
Now there's only one thing left to do
Lift our voices up into the light!
[Chorus]
Oh, He saves! Jesus saves!
From the highest mountains to the lowest waves!
Even the worst of us, He calls His own
Now we're singing out before the throne!
Hallelujah, let the whole church sing!
All the glory to the saving King!
[Bridge]
No one is too far gone (Praise Him!)
He's the rock we're standing on (Praise Him!)
Every sinner, every saint (Praise Him!)
Shout His name without restraint!
[Big Chorus]
Oh, He saves! Jesus saves!
From the highest mountains to the lowest waves!
Even the worst of us, He calls His own
Now we're singing out before the throne!
Hallelujah, let the whole church sing!
All the glory to the saving King!
[Outro]
Yes, He saves!
(Hallelujah!)
Jesus saves!
