Most of us agree to things we never read. We scroll to the bottom, tap the box, and move on. It is easy to treat faith the same way, as a moment when we said yes to Jesus and filed the receipt. But when God made His covenant with Abram, He did not ask Abram to sign anything. Animals were cut in two, and in the dark God alone passed between the pieces. In that world, walking between the pieces meant you were saying that this could happen to you if you broke your word. God put the whole weight of the promise on Himself.
That promise was finally kept at a cross. The night before Jesus died, He took the cup and called it the new covenant in His blood. The cost was not ours to pay, and it was not small. Faith is how we enter that covenant. We trust Him and come in. But faith is not the price, and it is not a signature that makes God owe us. If your faith has become a box you checked years ago, come back to the One who was cut for you. You belong to Him because of what He did, and that is firmer ground than anything you ever agreed to.

Lyrics
[Verse 1]
The button said I had agreed
I tapped and scrolled away
I called that little yes a vow
And did not mean to stay
Covenant is heavier
Than any box I checked
I used the word and missed the blood
The click was not the pledge
[Chorus]
Cut, not clicked
A checkbox is not faith
You cut the covenant
The promise carried blood
I am Yours by what You did
Not by what I clicked
[Verse 2]
The pieces lay there on the ground
And Abram fell asleep
A fire passed between the halves
The vow was His to keep
I was not asked to walk that path
Or finish what He swore
The yes I give is not the cut
The cut was made before
[Chorus]
Cut, not clicked
A checkbox is not faith
You cut the covenant
The promise carried blood
I am Yours by what You did
Not by what I clicked
[Verse 3]
He took the cup the night He died
And called the blood a vow
Not for the clean who earned a seat
For sinners coming now
I still believe, and that is faith
It is not what I pay
The covenant was cut in Him
Before I knew the way
[Chorus]
Cut, not clicked
A checkbox is not faith
Cut, not clicked
A checkbox is not faith
You cut the covenant
The promise carried blood
I am Yours by what You did
Not by what I clicked
[Bridge]
If all you did was tap agree
Come closer to the cost
Your yes is how you enter it
Your yes is not the cost
He passed between, and then the cross
The vow was paid in blood
A checkbox never made you His
The covenant has stood
[Chorus]
Cut, not clicked
A checkbox is not faith
You cut the covenant
The promise carried blood
I am Yours by what You did
Not by what I clicked
[Outro]
Cut, not clicked
I am Yours by what You did
