A lot of us bring God a list. We want Him to clear the bills, clean up the past, and lock down the future, and we treat His help like a hire we get to approve. Scripture will not let us stay in that seat. The living God is not applying for the job. He already rules light and dark, and He has already given His Son. His people do not get every outcome they asked for. They do get a Father who knows what they need.
So the turn is not "get better at managing God." It is trust. Stop leaning on your own understanding as if your plan were safer than His. Acknowledge Him in the ordinary decisions, including the ones that still feel unfinished. He is more than able to hold what you cannot see. Bring Him the fear about tomorrow. You do not get to put Him on trial. He already holds your life.

Lyrics
[Verse 1]
I tried to handle my own life
And do the whole thing right
I kept the list and forced the plan
And still I lost the fight
I sat there with the Bible open
Those stories on the page
And pictured asking God Himself
To help me like He helped those folk
[Chorus]
I asked to see God's résumé
He handed me the Book
I thought I'd do the hiring
He's the One who called my name
Not always what I think I need
So I will trust His good plan
My life is in His hands
[Verse 2]
I pulled a chair up to the table
Clipboard balanced on my knee
Said, "The rent is due on Friday
Can You handle this for me?"
He said, "I fed a nation daily
Forty years on desert ground
I give My people what they need
Not always what they ask Me for"
[Chorus]
I asked to see God's résumé
He handed me the Book
I thought I'd do the hiring
He's the One who called my name
Not always what I think I need
So I will trust His good plan
My life is in His hands
[Verse 3]
I said, "Here's a harder question
There's a guilt I cannot clear
Can You take a man like I am
After all I've done this year?"
He said, "I sent My Son to Calvary
He carried every sin you bring
The grave could not hold on to Him
Now ask Me one more thing"
[Chorus]
I asked to see God's résumé
He handed me the Book
I thought I'd do the hiring
He's the One who called my name
Not always what I think I need
So I will trust His good plan
My life is in His hands
[Verse 4]
I set the clipboard on the table
Said, "This last one's hard to say
I am unsure of my future
I can't see past today"
He said, "I called a king by name
Though he did not understand
I form the light, I make the dark
Your times are in My hand"
[Chorus]
I asked to see God's résumé
He handed me the Book
I thought I'd do the hiring
He's the One who called my name
Not always what I think I need
So I will trust His good plan
My life is in His hands
[Bridge]
I came in to interview Him
Now I'm the one on the spot
He is more than capable
Of everything I'm not
So I'll trust Him with my whole heart
And not lean on what I know
In all my ways I'll call Him Lord
He'll straighten where I go
[Chorus]
I asked to see God's résumé
He handed me the Book
I thought I'd do the hiring
He's the One who called my name
Not always what I think I need
So I will trust His good plan
My life is in His hands
[Outro]
He is more than capable
I'll accept His good plan
