Living Word

Lyrics

[Verse 1] It's sitting on the shelf in a leather-bound cover We treat it like a history book to discover Just a collection of some ancient days Full of poetry and wisdom and forgotten ways But the moment that you dig beneath the dust on the spine You realize you're stepping across a finish line It's a mirror to the soul, it's a lamp to the blind The greatest treasure that you'll ever find! [Verse 2] It's the character of God written down in the ink It's deeper than the deepest thoughts we could think You can read a single line a thousand times before Then suddenly it hits you and it opens a door It holds the true life, it holds the blueprint of grace Speaking straight into the mess of this modern place You can never hit the bottom of a well so deep It's a waking promise when the world's asleep! [Pre-Chorus] It tells us why the world is spinning out of control It draws the perfect map for the human soul No matter how the cultures and the fashion change The truth remains, yeah, it stays the same! [Chorus] It's a living Word! It's a boundless sea! A direct letter from eternity! Mine the depths, dive on in- It's right where the answers all begin! Yeah, it's a living Word! [Bridge] Ancient voices, modern light Chasing away the darkest night It's a gift, it's a breath, it's a lifeline fire Lifting us higher, lifting us higher! Let it break! [Chorus] It's a living Word! It's a boundless sea! A direct letter from eternity! Mine the depths, dive on in- It's right where the answers all begin! Yeah, it's a living Word! [Outro] Never runs out. Never fades away. Open your eyes. The living Word.
