You keep asking for a sign about the job, the move, the relationship, while the ordinary day is already full of commands you understand and do not want. "If I only knew God’s will" becomes a way to stay in charge. A preview of the outcome would let you relax. The hidden plan turns into the idol, and the will He has already spoken sits unread.
At the covenant in Moab, Moses said the secret things belong to the Lord, and the revealed things belong to His people to do. That distinction was not a promise that Israel could see the future. It was a summons to obey what God had said. Paul later names a will that is almost embarrassingly plain, and he locates it in Christ Jesus: rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances. This is not a technique that makes pain feel pleasant, and it is not a verdict that the circumstance was good. Thanks is trust in the Father who gave His Son, practiced inside a day that may still be bitter. Stop using "God’s will" as a code you must crack before you will trust Him. Do the will He has already spoken, on the day you have. Rejoice in Christ when the feeling is thin. Pray when you would rather fill the silence. Give thanks for mercy you did not earn. He is not withholding Himself until you guess right. He walks with the people who seek Him.
