It is possible to know a great deal about Jesus and never come to Him. When the wise men arrived in Jerusalem asking about the newborn King, the chief priests and scribes knew exactly where the Messiah would be born. They quoted the prophet without hesitation. Yet as far as the text tells us, none of them made the short trip to Bethlehem. Herod pretended interest while plotting murder.
Meanwhile, the wise men, Gentiles from the east who had no share in Israel's covenants, traveled a long way, rejoiced when God guided them, and fell down and worshiped the Child. God had promised that the nations would come to His light, and here was the first fulfillment at the cradle.
This is a warning for church people. Familiarity can harden into indifference. We can know the verses, the songs, and the traditions and still keep Jesus at a distance. Information is not worship.
It is also an invitation. The gospel is not limited to one group or background. God draws people from every nation, often surprising the insiders. No one is born into His family by heritage or kept out by it. All come the same way, by being drawn to Christ and bowing before Him.
So ask yourself honestly whether you have simply learned about Jesus, or whether you have come to worship Him. He still leads seekers to Himself.

Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Wise men traveling from the east
Saw His star when it arose,
Strangers to the ancient promise,
Far outside of Israel's fold.
When they reached Jerusalem,
Asking for the newborn King,
All the royal city trembled
At the news of everything.
[Pre-Chorus]
The scholars pointed out the place,
But it was strangers sought His face!
[Chorus]
Follow the star! (Follow the star!)
Nations are coming to His light!
From near and far, whoever you are,
He is the King for everyone,
Come and see what God has done,
Follow the star tonight!
[Verse 2]
"Bethlehem," the prophet wrote,
"Out of you a Ruler stands."
Herod lied and said he'd worship,
While he hid his wicked plans.
Still the star went on before them
Till it rested on the place,
They rejoiced to see the star
Then they saw the Savior's face!
[Pre-Chorus]
The scholars pointed out the place,
But it was strangers sought His face!
[Chorus]
Follow the star! (Follow the star!)
Nations are coming to His light!
From near and far, whoever you are,
He is the King for everyone,
Come and see what God has done,
Follow the star tonight!
[Bridge]
They fell down and worshiped Him,
Opened up their treasures there:
Gold and frankincense they brought,
And myrrh, a gift fit for a King to bear!
Nations running to Your dawn,
Kings are coming to Your light!
While the leaders stayed at home,
Strangers found the King tonight!
[Final Chorus]
Follow the star! (Follow the star!)
Nations are coming to His light!
From near and far, whoever you are,
He is the King for everyone,
Come and see what God has done,
Follow the star tonight!
[Outro]
From near and far, whoever you are...
Follow the star.
