Most of us would never say we think we are God. We simply live as if everything depends on us. Emails get answered at midnight, the family gets whatever is left, and rest waits until the work is finally done, which it never is. Underneath the exhaustion there is usually a quiet trust in ourselves. Some of it is fear: if I stop, something will fall apart, or someone will think less of me. Some of it is pride: no one can do this as well as I can, and it feels good to be needed. Either way, our limits start to look like enemies instead of reminders that we are creatures. The fruit shows up at home first. We grow short with the people we love, dull to good gifts, and too busy to pray. That is not dedication. It is a heart that has quietly put itself at the center.
God's answer is not a better schedule. It is Himself. He made us to need sleep, and every night He reminds us that He stays awake when we cannot. He gave His people a weekly day of rest as a gift, not a prize for the busy. He sent Moses wise counsel and faithful helpers, because one man was never meant to do it all. Most of all, He sent His Son, who invites worn out people to come to Him and meets them with a gentle and patient heart. Jesus finished the work that saves us, so our worth no longer rides on how much we get done. That makes rest an act of faith. Closing the laptop, keeping a day for worship, asking for help, and seeing a doctor when weariness runs deep are ways of telling Him that He is God and we are not. His Spirit does not make us tireless. He makes us glad to depend on Him.

Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Up before the sun with a coffee black
Forty open tabs and no turning back
Answer every buzz before it rings
Tell myself I'm holding everything
Snapped at the dog for a sock on the stairs
Looked right through my kids like they weren't there
Numb to the joy, but I'm still on the clock
Too scared, too proud, to ever stop
[Pre-Chorus]
Screen gets dim and the apps all crash
Still I tell myself I'll make it last
Tethered to the wall just to get through the hour
Living like I am my own power
[Chorus]
I've been living in low power mode
Hauling a load You never asked me to hold
But You give Your beloved sleep
So I'm letting go, and I'm letting You keep
Everything I carry, every hour
I can only run in Your power
[Verse 2]
Moses sat from the morning light
Hearing every case until the night
Jethro watched him, said, This isn't good
You can't carry what no one ever could
Share the weight with the faithful few
Then you'll endure, and they'll go in peace too
I'm no Moses, but I know that seat
Same endless line, and I've lost my sleep
[Pre-Chorus]
Six days of work, and the seventh's a gift
Not a reward for the weight I lift
Not a weakness, not a lazy hour
It's trusting You to be my power
[Chorus]
I've been living in low power mode
Hauling a load You never asked me to hold
But You give Your beloved sleep
So I'm letting go, and I'm letting You keep
Everything I carry, every hour
I can only run in Your power
[Bridge]
Come away and rest a while
Come to Me, you weary child
My yoke is easy, My burden's light
Lay it down and say goodnight
The world still turns when you shut your eyes
Held by the One who never tires
[Chorus]
So come find me in low power mode
Here's the load You never asked me to hold
'Cause You give Your beloved sleep
And I'm letting go, and I'm letting You keep
Everything I carry, every hour
I can only run in Your power
[Outro]
I can only run
In Your power
